Further Pollution can be Prevented!
Unless humans completely ban the extraction of oil and minerals from the tundra’s ground and stop human settlement and tourism, pollution is inevitable; however there are some precautions that can be made to lessen the issue. Obviously, limiting the mining and oil extractions will lower the risk of accidental spills, and the amount of air pollution that is a result from the drilling. Also, to prevent human waste, tours to the the tundra should impose restrictions on the tourists they are carrying. They should also raise the prices and tourists should be restricted to only certain areas.
Unregulated Hunting and Trapping Needs to Stop!
The simplest way to diminish this issue is to place more restrictions on the number of animals hunters are allowed to kill and ban the hunting and trapping of certain animals that are threatened the most. The government has already taken action to prevent this problem, but more restrictions need to be enforced so the wildlife in the tundra can flourish, not just get by.
Human Settlement can Settle...Elsewhere
To prevent further disturbances to the animals of the tundra from human settlement, people need to limit the construction and building of pipelines in the tundra biome and establish protected areas and park reserves to limit human influence. Humans in the tundra need to be cautious of the wildlife and disrupt the ecosystem as little as possible.

Did You Know...?
- The Tundra is believed to be the youngest biome in the world! It is believed to be formed approximately 10,000 years ago.
- Because there isn't an even balance of animals and plants in the tundra biome, this is one of the few places on Earth known as a carbon dioxide sink.
- It may not seem like it, but HUGE masses of insects live in this biome.
- There are about 5 MILLION caribou that live in the tundra biome...these are the only species of deer where both genders develop antlers
- There have been 48 species of animals living in the tundra biome.
